Privacy policy

By the Black Book of Sex editorial teamUpdated · 3 min read

This notice covers the website at www.blackbookofsex.com: the information pages and guides you're reading now. It does not cover the members area at members.blackbookofsex.com, where accounts, profiles, messages and payments live. That has its own privacy policy.

Who is responsible

Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA, is the data controller for this website.

What this website collects

Very little.

  • No cookies. This website sets no cookies.
  • No tracking or advertising. It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
  • Server logs. The website is a static site hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel's servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. These logs are used for security and to keep the site working, and are handled under Vercel's privacy policy.

We don't use this information to identify you, build a profile of you or sell anything to anyone.

The join box

Some pages have a box where you can type your email address to start a profile. When you press the button, your email address is sent straight to the members area at members.blackbookofsex.com/join. This website doesn't keep a copy. From that point it is handled under the members-area privacy policy, which also explains that profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network.

Why we process it

We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website to process server-log data. We don't carry out automated decision-making on visitors to this website.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, data protection law gives you rights over your personal information:

  • UK and EU: under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its use, and complain to a regulator. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office.
  • United States: several states, including California, give residents rights to know about, delete and opt out of the sale of their personal information. This website doesn't sell personal information.
  • Australia: the Privacy Act 1988 applies to many organisations, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner handles complaints.

Because this website holds almost nothing about you, most requests will be about your members-area account. Either way, send them through the members help centre and say whether your question is about this website or your account.

International transfers

The operator is based in the United States and the website's hosting provider runs servers in several countries, so technical data may be processed outside the UK, the EU or Australia.

Children

This website and the members area are for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. It was last updated on 17 October 2026.
