In short
Black Book of Sex is an adults-only casual dating site run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company. Joining and browsing are free; reading and replying to messages need a paid membership that renews until cancelled. The essentials
Black Book of Sex is a casual dating site for adults, free to look around and paid to talk. The details:
| Item | Item |
|---|---|
| Operator | Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA |
| Domain first registered | 4 November 2010 |
| Who it's for | Adults after something casual: 18 and over (21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming) |

| Sign-up | Email address, password, date of birth; at least one photo expected |
| Free | Join, build a profile, browse (free accounts see ads) |
| Paid | Reading and replying to messages, read receipts, who viewed you, likes, full-size photos |
| Optional extras | Boosts, priority messages, a 24-hour pass, reveal likes, ID-verified badge |
| Prices | Shown in the members area before you pay; see prices |
| Renewal | Automatic until cancelled in Settings > Billing, trials included |
| On your statement | The billing name shown at checkout |
| Partner sites | One member database shared with partner sites in the same network; each profile shows the member's original site |

| Delete account | Avatar > Settings > Delete Account |

Two rows cause most of the surprises. Renewal is automatic, so put the date in your diary the day you pay. And partner-site sharing means your profile is read beyond this one website, so keep your surname, workplace and street out of it.
What we couldn't confirm
A fact sheet is only useful if it's honest about its gaps. As of 17 October 2026, we couldn't confirm:
- whether UK or Australian members are charged in their own currency (the plans we've seen are in US dollars);
- which billing name appears on every card statement, which is why we point you to the one shown at checkout;
- whether there is a Black Book of Sex app (we found none to describe).
The members area publishes no response times, and nobody is obliged to reply.
Where to report a problem
Report a member through the members help centre first, with their username and screenshots. If money is involved, call your bank, then the official body:

Questions people ask
Who runs Black Book of Sex?
Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company at 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. The company is named in the members-area footer, where accounts and payments are handled. The domain was first registered on 4 November 2010, and the brand was an Australian adult site by 2018 before most of its readers came to be in the UK.
Is Black Book of Sex free?
Partly. Joining, building a profile and browsing are free, and free accounts see ads. Reading and replying to messages need a paid membership, which renews automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. The members area shows the price, currency and billing name before you pay, and the prices page explains the plans.
What will my bank statement show?
The billing name shown at checkout. Read it there before you pay, and expect the same line at every renewal until you cancel. We don't print a specific name on this page because we couldn't confirm which one appears on every card statement, and the checkout is the reliable place to see it.
How do I leave Black Book of Sex?
Cancel the renewal in Settings > Billing, then delete your profile through your avatar, Settings > Delete Account. They are separate steps, so do both if you're leaving for good, and check your next statement to make sure no further payment was taken.
